The Film Reviews Presentations Who is John of God? About Us/Contact Order

“This tribute to John of God is beautiful beyond words.  The loving spirit of the Casa de

Dom Inacio swept through me as the viewer, just as it did the first time I saw John of

God.  If it is possible to have captured the energy of a place and translate it into something

a person can feel personally and viscerally, you have surely done that.  I wept for joy – the

film was like coming home.  I love that it conveys John’s message so clearly – that it is

indeed God who heals, and that he heals through the giving of a community.  I love that it

offers a simple education of what really occurs in the human energy field when spiritual

healing is taking place, and the nature of unseen entities in a way that is easily understood

and accepted.  More than anything, I love how clearly you have conveyed our human

potential to be loving and whole independent of our circumstances; that we are indeed

infinite.  I am certain that this film is being held in the loving embrace of all those seen

and unseen who make up the Casa de Dom Inacio.”

"This documentary gives us an inside look at John of God, revealing that love and giving

and faith in God can heal the body and the spirit."

“A most impressive work. In an age when melodrama and pyrotechnics prevail, it is

refreshing to watch a gentle presentation of stunning miracles -- the twin miracles of Life

and Love. "I Do Not Heal, God is the One Who Heals" is crafted with finesse. Instead of

beginning by showing the astonishing recoveries of pilgrims to the Casa de Dom Ignacio,

where John of God 'dispenses' healing prescriptions, this movie begins with a South

African MD explaining the nature  of Energy Healing. From there, we receive a guided

tour of the work of John of God. We meet the man himself, hear his message, witness the

people who come to see him and visit the center and soup kitchen where the community

supports those who come to be healed. John of God says that it is God who heals; and the

viewer clearly sees that God's channel is the healing power of humanity. One cannot watch

this movie without experiencing a healing of one's own spirit, in that deep place that is

free of words.”

"...an excellent job. So many of the other available videos  concentrate on the more

sensational aspects of the Casa -- namely, the visible surgeries -- and miss the bigger

picture of what is really going on there: spiritual healing and all that implies. This film is

the only one that addresses the very important subject of obsession by negative entities,

which I thought was explained very clearly to Western viewers.

I especially liked the footage of Dorothy Cooke, whom I was privileged to meet at the Casa.

I was pleased that one of the unsung heroes of the Casa got this attention. Everything she

said about the Casa and about spiritual life was expressed so clearly and with the strength

of personal realization.”

“…The film is ABSOLUTELY wonderful, and what a tribute to

John of God, and his mission for the work of God...

I have suggested to all my contacts around the world, that they invest in the purchase of

the DVD.”

"...This tribute is a masterful production.  It is outstanding for its honesty, integrity, and

lack of sensationalism.  Having been to Brazil 32 times, we feel that this film truly

captures the essence of the Casa, the kindness of the volunteers who work there, and the

flavor of the sweet town of Abadiania.   Emma Bragdon does a great job of narrating. You

can feel her open heart and clear intention to bring knowledge of John of God and hope to

the world.  It is a real blessing to have John’s words translated into multiple languages in

subtitles so that people from various countries have the opportunity to understand his

message.”

“Watching “I Do Not Heal, God is the One Who Heals” is a most moving experience,

because of the honest simplicity of the presentation, even though the subject matter is

profound.  What could be more profound than a Spiritist center in Brazil, the “Casa de

Dom Ignacio” where God and the Saints and Spirits, are so strongly present, that

miraculous healings take place.

Many people, from all over the world, who had previously been sent home to die by their

physicians who could not help them any further, have come here, and received full

healing. The man called “John of God” is shown to be humble and quiet, receiving no

obvious financial or other gain, as he devotedly sees hundreds of people a day at this

sacred center.  Together with his supporters, he helps hold the energy for God’s healing

love to be expressed, and makes no claims to be doing anything himself.

To know that places like this actually exist is a profound reminder of what is really

important in our lives, and this dvd serves very well in making it real.”

“Casa de Dom Inacio is everything (the narrator) Emma says it is and she presents it with

integrity. But the documentary is too short! …I could find no place at Casa de Dom Inacio

to leave a donation. No one asked for money. All Spiritism centers are free… John of God

sees everyone, no matter how many hundreds of people are there. If I ever get sick, I am

going to see John of God.”

I just wanted to say thank you for making the film about Joao (John of God).   I have been

twice to Abadiania this year, and found it a transforming experience.  I've seen various

films about the Casa, but none of them are so grounded and inspiring as yours.  It's so

good that it is so balanced in its presentation of Joao's work, putting the "miraculous" in

its spiritual context.  It helps me to put my experience into perspective and understand

more about it and the work of the Casa.

I've also found your two books very helpful - the one about the Casa (Spiritual Alliances),

and the other about Kardec's Spiritism, which I read when I was there in August.  Many

people ask me about my experience and what is going on at the Casa, and it's good to have

something to show them which I think encapsulates the esssence of it.
